Weaving Nature: de Le Cuona x Julie Clapton at WNWN 25
At What’s New, What’s Next 2025, de Le Cuona unveils a multi-sensory experience that celebrates the power of process, the poetry of materials, and the quiet luxury of time. Held at our New York Design Center showroom, the event brings together film, fibre, and live artistry in a day-long activation that redefines what textiles can be.
Live Installation with Julie Clapton
de Le Cuona invites you to experience a full-day live installation by contemporary fiber artist Julie Rose Clapton.
Julie will be creating a woven art piece in real time, using wool, a material she has worked with extensively, and flax fibre, which she will be spinning and weaving for the first time. Her process will unfold throughout the day, transforming raw fibres into a finished artwork inspired by the textures, tones, and mood of de Le Cuona's latest collection, Raw Echo.
Julie Clapton

Julie Rose Clapton is a fibre-based artist whose practice is grounded in care through material processes. She works across weaving, knitting, papermaking, performance, and painting, creating work that is both tactile and conceptual.
Her approach centres on reciprocity — sourcing materials in collaboration with individual farmers and communities. By revisiting traditional modes of fibre production, Julie enhances the dialogue between grower and maker, material and meaning. Her pieces often weave together ancestral stories and pagan rituals, creating artworks that feel timeless, intentional, and deeply connected to the land.
Raw Echo: A Tactile Reflection of Wilderness
Throughout the day, guests will also explore Raw Echo, de Le Cuona’s newest collection. Inspired by untouched wilderness landscapes, the collection is a refined celebration of texture and tone — where rugged elegance meets timeless design.
Thoughtful Dialogue & Cultural Connection
This activation is more than a showcase. Visitors are invited to observe the process, engage with Julie, and experience firsthand the expressive potential of natural fibres. This live act of creation celebrates de Le Cuona's commitment to craftmanship, cultural connection, and material integrity.
